Test to make sure you are getting 12v from the lead wires. It's best to test with a continuity tester first and make sure that between the Black Wire and any Ground, that you have continuity. Then use the Voltage Setting on your tester, and test between the Red Wire and Ground, and you should have at least 12 volts.
